J.E. Rice remains a family run business to this day. Steve, Jamie, and Chase Rice enjoy working in the store, which has always been a part of their lives. We will continue to move along with the times," says Chase who also says the store has managed to survive for so many years because "we are customer friendly and offer many items that other stores do not stock." Customers going into the store will always find a willing employee to help them whether they are looking for hard-to-find dime bolt or screw or a refrigerator. "We always strive to be sure our customers leave with a smile - whether we were able to make a sale or not," says Chase Rice. While the company no longer sells tires or many other automobile accessories, it does handle some batteries and cleaning and polishing supplies. For the home kitchen there are all types of supplies, ranging from iron skillets to pressure cookers. All types of garden supplies are available including rakes, hoes, shovels and working gloves. For those who like to bicycle, replacement parts - including pumps and pedals - can be purchased. Pulleys, dowels, chains, cable and lawnmower parts are other items tht fill the store. One side of the store is devoted to large appliances, including ranges, Pellet & Gas Stoves, washers and dryers. "I don't think there are very many household items a person might want that can't be found in our store," says Chase Rice. Primary
